But who do you like in tomorrow's matches?
The oddsmakers (on the Anglo websites I just checked) really like the Anglo teams: the US has a better than even (5/7) chance to win, with Algeria getting 7/2, and a draw slightly more likely at 11/4. England, meanwhile, is also odds-on to win (2/5), with Slovenia at just 13/2 and a draw at about 3/1.
And me? I discontinued the match preview score predictions after too many dead-wrong answers, but I'll take a stab here. In that wide-open USA-Algeria game, I expect the Americans to concede at least once on a defensive mistake, but also to threaten the Algerian goal consistently. Let's say 2-1 USA.
As for England vs. Team George McFly (or team Willard), I forsee an unappealing but effective 2-0 game. Without doing much to impress any neutral observers, they'll get a cheapie in the first half -- the Slovenian defense is hardly foolproof -- and then score on a counter break late in the second. This will put England atop the group, send the tabloids into delirium, and cause even more massive disappointment when Serbia beats the Three Lions in the Round of 16.
But I'd rather hear what you think.
